Biography:
John Tarkowsky is a managing partner in the Mansfield, Ohio office of the law firm. John practices primarily in workers' compensation, labor and employment law, intentional tort, and civil and business litigation. He regularly represents parties before the Industrial Commission of Ohio, State and Federal courts and State and Federal agencies. A 1975 graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College, he received his J.D. degree from Ohio Northern University in 1978 and is OSBA Board Certified in workers' compensation. John has lectured extensively on the subject of workers' compensation and employment law at the request of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Bureau of Workers' compensation, the National Business Institute, the National Associatiion of Subrogation Professionals, numerous Chambers of Commerce, and private clients and employers. Each year since 2004, he has been selected as one of Ohio's "Super Lawyers" by Law & Politics and Cincinnati Magazine. Formerly a special counsel for the Ohio Attorney General's office in its workers' compensation section, he is a member of the Richland County and Ohio State Bar Associations, the Ohio Association of Civil Trial Attorneys, and the International Law Society. Currently John is licensed to practice in Ohio's State courts, the United States Tax Court, the Federal Court for the Northern District of Ohio and the Eastern District of Wisconsin.
