Professional Background Greg is a 1970 cum laude graduate of the Ohio State University College of Law, after receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree from Wittenberg University. He practiced insurance defense law in Cleveland, Ohio from 1970 to 1975 and has been a partner at Baran, Piper, Tarkowsky, Fitzgerald, & Theis Co., L.P.A. since 1975. Greg's concentration with the firm has been insurance defense in all sorts of cases from car accidents to premises liability, from asbestos litigation to fraternity hazing. He has participated in more than 100 jury trials in numerous counties in Ohio, and in federal court, while maintaining a constant appellate practice as well, including a number of Ohio Supreme Court appearances before an ever changing Supreme Court Bench. Greg's practice has grown to include a fair amount of plaintiff's, or injured person's representation, with a considerable number prosecuted to a successful conclusion. In addition to raising four children in Mansfield, Ohio, Greg has helped oversee the expansion of the firm from 2 lawyers to as many as 25 in his more than 30 years with the firm. Greg enjoys sailing and reading when he is not practicing law. |
