Background
Kelly L. Badnell
received her Juris Doctorate from Ohio Northern University Petit
College of Law after earning her Bachelor of Arts degrees in Business
Administration and Polticial Science from Washington & Jefferson
College. Kelly is Board Certified in Worker's Compensation by the Ohio
State Bar Association.
Prior to joining Baran,
Piper, Tarkowsky, Fitzgerald, & Theis Co., L.P.A., Kelly L. Badnell
was a Hardin County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Kenton, Ohio from
1994 to 1996 practicing in criminal, county, and township law. From
1996 through 1997 she represented a telecommunications consulting firm
and their client, a telecommunications provider, before various city,
county, and township zoning boards. Kelly regularly represents clients
before the Industrial Commission of Ohio, State and Federal Courts, and
State and Federal Agencies. Kelly has lectured before various
professional groups and private clients in the areas of Worker's
Compensation and employment law.
Kelly's litigation
practice has emphasis on insurance defense cases ranging from defense
of personal injury cases, interpretations of insurance contract
provisions under Ohio law including various UM/UIM issues, product
liability, intentional tort, and other employment law issues.
Kelly is a member of
the Richland County and Ohio State Bar Associations. Kelly is licensed
to practice in all Ohio courts, the U.S. District Court for the
Northern District of Ohio, and the U.S. District Court for the Southern
District of Ohio.
